The Calls for Kids Telecast is our best and biggest opportunity to highlight our mission, the families who utilize our programs, and the companies, individuals and organizations who fund our programs each year. During the three-hour live event, production is divided among the phone bank where volunteers, prominent community leaders and local celebrities field phone calls from donors, live and taped interviews with families, live and taped interviews with donors, and video segments that give viewers a closer look at our House and Family Room.
On April 17, 2010 from 7pm to 10pm WKRN News 2 will once again host the Calls For Kids Telecast to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville. Join your News 2 hosts Lisa Patton, Neil Orne, John Dwyer and former Tennessee Titan, Brad Hopkins, for this three hour Telecast. Please mark your calendar to watch.
You can be a part of the Telecast by tuning in and calling in your pledge, pre-raising funds as a VIP or making a commitment as a Minute Match sponsor. Each year we seek “Minute-Match” Sponsors who provide $1,000-$25,000 to match one to 25 minutes of the Telecast. Phones ring twice as much during the segments of our Telecast when a company is matching callers’ gifts. We also seek donations of incentive prizes that callers receive for making donations at various levels, local personalities and celebrities to sit on the phone bank, and volunteers to assist in fundraising and planning.
