BreAnna and Cody Phillips found out that their baby boy Colton had neuroblastoma, a cancerous tumor in his stomach, when he was six months old. Their roller coaster ride had begun. Colt had surgery to remove the tumor but less than two months later, the cancer was back. After six months of chemotherapy and radiation, Colt has his first stem cell transplant. He captured our hearts and first lit up the Nashville Ronald McDonald House in February 2010, post transplant, when the Phillips family moved into one of our extended stay suites while Colt received outpatient treatments. His little smile and the twinkle in his eye would brighten anyone’s day. Colt and his parents said goodbye to their “home away from home” in March 2010 and went home to Loretto, Tennessee two hours south of our House.
In December 2010, during a routine check-up, Cody and BreAnna found out Colt had relapsed. On January 11, 2011 they once again moved into the Nashville Ronald McDonald House and called it home while he received more rounds of chemotherapy. After 51 nights, the Phillips once again went home to Loretto.
Colt never meets a stranger and loved stomping around the House in his cowboy boots! We continue to see Colt when he stops in for a visit and he always has a smile on his face!
